3D Assist

Assistant: Spheriod Creator.

The Spheroid Creator is used for distributing layers based on the surface of a sphere or ellipsoid. You can make great curved shapes, like rings and domes. Or create a sphere and move inside of it to create curved video walls.

How it works.

This tool is flexible and powerful. Set the sphere's radius, choose how many layers to use, and decide which attributes you want turned on or off. Then let the Assistant handle the calculations. You can create arrangements that would otherwise be far too calculation-intensive.

The only spherical shape you can't create, ironically, is a perfect sphere. This arrangement is just not possible using rectangular polygons or layers.

The parameter list.

Interesting paramaters include Radius/Bounding Box, which determines the dimensions of the sphere. Latitude/Longitude sets how far apart the layers will be distributed on the surface of the sphere. Orientation chooses whether the layer orientation in the Spheroid Creator is 'Inward' towards the center of the sphere, or 'Outward' and oriented away from the center.
