3D Assist

Assistant: Cubic Distribution.

Cubic Distribution distributes layers within a 3D space as defined by a cube or rectangular area. This is a great Assistant to use if you're trying to fill After Effects' 3D space with objects. You can set the shape, then randomly distribute the layers throughout.

How it works.

Cubic Distribution will distribute layers throughout a 3D cube. You set the dimensions of this cube, tell it how to distribute the layers, and it takes care of the positioning.

Just by selecting the cube size and one checkbox, you can quickly create a shape in about a minute. Of course, you can use other parameters to do this task in a more controlled fashion. The only limitations are the boundaries of the cube and any restrictions you might put on its placement along the XYZ axes.

Cubic Distribution shouldn't be confused with Box Creator. The Distribution works within a cube-shaped 3D space. In comparison, the Creator distributes layers along the surface of a cube.

The parameter list.

Interesting paramaters include Cube Dimensions, which defines the size of the cube in which the selected layers will be distributed. The Distance value determines how far apart layers will be distributed in three dimensions.
