Great features of the Assistants.
The 3D Assistants have a lot of great features. They don't need keyframes set, although you can do so to extend the functionality. Use an unlimited number of layers (as long as your computer doesn't complain!). There are no issues with import and render because you never leave After Effects. You can even make your compositions more sophisticated by animating from one Assistant to another.

No keyframes necessary.
| Unlike keyframe assistants such as The Wiggler, the 3D
Assistants do not need keyframes to be present in a layer. In fact, these tools weren't designed to set keyframes at all. Mostly the Assistants are designed
to arrange layers in 3D space.
This doesn’t require keyframes
to be present in a layer. Of course, you CAN set keyframes and make your project that much more sophisticated. If you want to animate the position or orientation of your layers, then you will introduce keyframes. |

Unlimited number of layers.
There is no limit to the number of layers to which you can simultaneously apply a
3D Assistant. In fact, the ability to distribute large groups of layers is one
of the most useful aspects of this software.
You can even use the assistants
to replicate your layers and create large groups of layers. Be careful about
this, though… You can easily turn 7 layers into 700 layers. Your compuer may not like that. |

Play in the AE world.
| Best of all, with the 3D Assistants, you stay within After Effects
3D space. Since these are tools that keyframe, there is no render
time on top of the time it takes for After Effects to render your layers.
This gives the 3D Assistants an advantage over regular filters
that use 3D space. These only work within their 3D space, not
After Effects, which means additional rendering time. And
its not always easy to integrate their 3D space with After
Effects. |
