Backdrop Designer

Over 900 pre-made backdrops.

Backdrop Designer is all about presets! Presets make your workflow fast, cost effective, and maybe even fun. A 'preset' is an image that was made by Digital Anarchy (that's us!) and shipped with the software for you to quickly get started using it. There are three kinds of premade images in Backdrop Designer: Texture presets, Shadow presets and Combination presets.

The Texture presets.

Texture presets are the premade colorful patterns that you load into the Texture Window.

Texture presets have all been created with an eye towards the physical drapery that you may be using currently in your photography studio. They are accessed via the Texture Window's Load button.

Textures from the 'Old Masters' and 'Aqua' categories.

The Shadow presets.

Shadow presets are grayscale abstracts that you load into the Shadow Window. Shadow presets are very important for adding the look of depth and realism to your digital backdrop.

Shadow presets that are shipped with Backdrop Designer are a varied bunch. They include simulations of drapery and material folds; hot spots from bright lights; and hard edges cast from windows and fences. They are accessed via the Shadow Window's Load button.

Shadows from the 'Fabric', 'Hot Spot' and 'xxx' categories.

The Combo presets.

Combination (or Combo) presets are pairings of a Texture and a Shadow. We have pre-combined colorful patterns and material distortions that we think look great together. You can save your own pairings as Custom presets.

How to access presets.

To work with Combination presets, you will click along the top right of the Backdrop Designer interface. The Square button is the Load Preset button. The Plus button is the Save Preset button.

Individual Texture and Shadow presets are accessed via the LOAD buttons next to their respective windows.
