NAPP (part of Photoshop User).

February 2008, by Dave Huss. Rating: 5/5

"After working with Light Factory for a few hours, you'll discover that comparing Light Factory with the Lens Flare filter is like comparing MacPaint (or Microsoft Paint) with Corel Painter... For example, when photographing a backlit bride, the real light source produced nasty chromatic aberrations on the captured image. With Light Factory, I was able to add the desired light coming over the shoulders of the bride[.]"

November 2007 blog review, by James Dempsey, Creative Guy blog.

"Knoll Light Factory can be used to create more than just exploding planets in space—try enhancing sunlight in your landscape photos, or making that candle in a photo of a warm holiday scene brighter and more... [I]f you work with a lot of images and like to bring a little extra to the lighting, this plug-in is well worth having."

January 2008 review of version 2.0, by Anthony L. Celeste.

"Knoll Light Factory is focused on creating lens flare effects, one of the most commonly used effects in both photography and film... As you may know, Photoshop does contain a Lens Flare filter, but it is extremely limited in ability... I chose Knoll's lens flare plug-in for this article, because it is one of the most powerful and customizable lens flare plug-ins on the market."

NOTE: Because reviews are planned months in advance, the review covers version 2.0 of Knoll Light Factory. The Shutterbug article lists the older version 2.0 at $99.00. Because of the extensive updates and improvements that have been made to version 3.0, we cannot offer that price. We apologize for any inconvenience.
