Who needs Primatte?

Who needs Primatte to solve his chromakey masking needs? Generally a professional or semi-pro photographer who is interested in creating a sophisticated product with a short production time.

Maybe you consistently have difficult imagery to mask, like sheer fabrics. Or you're dealing with color reflection from studio lights. You need to quickly process large groups of photos, and on a regular basis.

Perhaps you simply want to be in your photography studio more and in front of a computer less. Primatte can help you.

How will it work for you?

How is Primatte different than, say, hand masking with Photoshop's Extract tool? Sometimes pictures are better than words! In the 'result' photos, the checkerboard grid indicates transparency.

Using Photoshop tools, the backdrop still clouds the candle holder, and is trapped in the fringe of the candle.

Using Primatte, all blue is easily removed from around, behind, and within the subject.

When should you buy it?

When should you invest in Primatte? When time is valuable to you. Spend your billable time on photography, not post-production. Here are some points to consider:

1-

Are you already creating professional quality composites, but spending too much time in Photoshop?

2-

Do you need to process large numbers of photographs, for a school or special event, in a short period of time?

3-

Are you beginning a business that customizes photographs, and interested in starting out with the right tools?

4-

Do your photographs look great when you pull them off your camera, but not so great after you extract the bluescreen?

Who doesn't need Primatte?

For an amateur photographer or a professional doing relatively little chromakey work, Primatte may not be an investment you need to make. You know your work and what it needs.

Questions to ask yourself:

1-

Do your projects have a deadline or time limit?

2-

Are you concerned with billable time? That is, the time you get paid for vs. the time not covered by your fee?

3-

Do you like experimenting with Photoshop's built-in tools, to discover what Photoshop can do?

4-

Do your photos require a totally believable composite?

5-

Is photography a hobby right now?
