Primatte

View your mask as you work.

Primatte gives you four View modes to toggle the contents of the Image Window. You also get the choice of previewing your subject against a solid new color or against your new target background.

Switch between View modes.

There are four View modes in Primatte. Each has a different function in helping you to create your mask.

Comp View

Comp View changes the view to the composited image. If a key has been pulled, then a composite of the foreground and background layers is displayed. Otherwise, then the original image is displayed.

Mask View

Mask View changes the view io a grayscale representation of the mask that’s been created.

Front View

Front View changes the view to the original Foreground image. Toggling between Front and Comp view -- to compare the composite with the original photo -- will often reveal details that have been lost.

Back View

Back View changes the view to the Background, which is the bottommost layer in your Photoshop file. This allows you to check on details of the composite that you're working towards.

View the new background.

Tucked next to the Back View button are options to view your masked image against a new grahic or a solid color of your choice.

Comp Shows Layer is the default mode. It shows your bottommost Photoshop layer through the mask that Primatte is creating. Your other choice is Comp Shows Color. With this option, you use a Color Picker to decide a solid color to display as the background to the Primatte mask. The default color is a neutral medium gray. The Transp and Split options display your image against a transparency checkerboard or in a solid/transparent split.
