Fix for issue with 10-bit footage.

After Effects crashes with ReSizer 1.0.

Q

I'm using Resizer 1.0 with the 'Sinc' algorithm in After Effects 6.5. The crashes occur randomly after rendering about 2500 frames. Without Resizer - no crashes!

A

Our most recent 1.3 update fixes some crashes and speed issues in ReSizer 1.0. Please install the ReSizer 1.3 update that is available on our Update page. If this update doesn't fix the problem you're experiencing, contact us using this simple Request Form.

Difference between 1.0 and 2.1?

Q

What's the difference between version 1.0 and 2.1 of ReSizer?

A

Lots! Version 2.1 makes ReSizer into a more robust tool. We've added a lot of new functions and made the plugin easier to use. For instance, we've added aspect ration and preset choices for targeting your new size and dimensions. We reduced the choice of algorithms to two really good ones. You can read a full list of ReSizer changes here.

Is ReSizer part of Anarchy Toolbox?

Q

Can I still buy ReSizer as part of the Anarchy Toolbox?

A

Not anymore. ReSizer became so popular that we broke it out of the Anarchy Toolbox, and decided to make some improvements and additions. The Toolbox still has nine plugins, though. We substituted our Gradient! plugin for ReSizer.

Upgrade fee for 1.0 to 2.0?

Q

I already own ReSizer 1.0. What is the charge for upgrading to version 2.1?

A

You may have bought this product as part of the Anarchy Toolbox in 2004 or 2005, or as a standalone plugin in 2006. Either way, we are offering ReSizer 2.0 to you for $99.00 USD.

Where are 'Better' and 'Best' options?

Q

When using ReSizer previously, I used the 'Better' and 'Best' options. What happened to them?

A

Those Quality options are still in the 2.1 plugin; we've just changed the preset names. The 'Better' setting is now called 'Best (Sharp)' and the 'Best' setting is now 'Best (Smooth)'. Which one is best is dependent on your footage, although 'Best (Sharp)' is what you should try first.

Update ReSizeru for FCP 5.1.2

Q

I can't install ReSizer 2.0 into FCP 5.1.2. I get an error message which reads: '1008:9,-5000 Access denied'. ReSizer 2.0 works just fine in After Effects 7.0.

A

Most likely, you need the FX Plug version of ReSizer. That's what our 2.1 release (now at 2.2) was all about. Please contact us for the update info with this simple Request Form.

Fix for issue with 10-bit footage.

Q

I'm working with ReSizer in a 10-bit uncompressed sequence, but all I'm getting is a black frame when I render. What gives?

A

Most likely, you are working with an older release of ReSizer, version 2.1.2. There was an issue with 10-bit uncompressed footage. ReSizer 2.2 fixed 10-bit support in FCP and After Effects. Contact us with this simple Request Form for the update information.
