Chris Meyer
Cybermotion Studio, 2005
www.cybmotion.com

Founded by Trish and Chris Meyer, CyberMotion Studios is a motion graphics design studio in the Los Angeles area. For the ArtBeats stock footage company, Chris developed the 'Liquid Abstracts HD' and 'Nature Abstracts HD' backgrounds.

These soft, subtle images were taken from nature at various resolutions. Chris used ReSizer to upconvert the footage to High Definition while maintaining its visual integrity. NOTE: We are showing low-resolution movies.

'Hibernation' by John Williams

Kevan O'Brien said, "Resizer, combined with After Effects Professional, has enabled independent filmmakers in the UK develop a cost effective workflow for getting projects onto film and into festivals. John Williams' award winning "Hibernation" would not have been possible without the use of Resizer.

Jon Rennie
Dinamo Productions, 2006
www.dinamo.co.uk

Dinamo Productions is a digital media company based in the Welsh capital of Cardiff. The studio produces animation for television productions, title sequences, interstitials, and web designs.

Jon Rennie said this about their recent project: "We've used ReSizer for one project so far: an advert for the Welsh broadcaster S4C. I uprezed all the digibeta footage to HD so that I had plenty of opportunity to zoom into various shots and composite them without losing resolution. The main shot where this was used was a camera move emerging from the presenter's eye." Read more about this project.

Dan Williamson
Aardman Animation, 2006

www.aardman.com

Aardman Animation is a studio known for successful films such as the Wallace & Gromit series. Compositor Dan Williamson said this about his recent use of ReSizer:

""We are using ReSizer for something a bit unusual, but it seems to work well. We’re using a Nikon D2Hs to animate with, exporting 2464x1632 (the Nikon image ratio) JPEG sequences and then making 2464x1632 QuickTimes to import into FCP. The QuickTimes are exported as 10-bit Uncompressed 4:2:2 codec.

"We resize the image on the Timeline to fit a 16:9 (1920x1080 HD) or PAL 4:3 Canvas. This is fine for an offline when we are sending the original jpegs to our compositor as they receive unadulterated images and my cut acts as a guide only. Sometimes, if we need to export from the cut though, the exported images are too poor to work with. That is why we found ReSizer!"

David Murphy
Citytv, 2006
www.citytv.com

Citytv is a family of television stations that telecasts the flavor of the community in Canada that they serve: Serious commentary, passionate oration, and other inclusive, accessible styles of broadcasting. Senior Editor David Murphy had this to say about a recent project for Citytv.

"I've used the Resizer plug-in for a project that is in the theatres and on-air. The spot was for the (now cancelled) show, '3lbs', which was cut using clips from the show.

"The promo dept. wanted to show the spot in theatres across Canada and I was asked to create a Hi-def version with cinema-style graphics.

"Resizer was included in a Digital Anarchy purchase we had recently made, so I decided to try it out. In After Effects, I upconverted all the 720x486 original clips to 1280x720 and added new graphics. Everyone was happy with the quality of the viz and the spot shipped out to Cineplex.

The plug-in is easy to use; the presets make it a snap. I've found lots of uses for ReSizer, such as scaling up video to create over-sized backgrounds for standard def comps, etc."
