Red 'X' or 'digitalanarchy' through image.

Q

I can't see the image that I am working on. There is a red X (or gray text) through my footage. How can I evaluate your product with that in the way?

A

If there is a red X or gray text through your footage, then you are viewing our product in demo mode. If you have not purchased our product, this watermark will stay until you make the purchase.

Please be assured that our demo works exactly as the purchased version, so you can get a complete understanding of how he product works. Once you purchase our product, then you can input the serial information that we sent you via email and remove that watermark.

Moving plugin betwen apps didn't work.

Q

Can I move a plugin file from one version of an application to another? I dragged the Digital Anarchy plugin file from Photoshop 7.0 into Photoshop CS3, and now the product doesn't work.

A

No, you can't 'drag and drop' a plugin file from one version of an application to another. You need to do what's called a 'fresh install'. This means that you need to install the plugin from an installer (a .exe or .dmg file) directly into the application's 'Plugins' folder. Otherwise, the plugin will not be able to properly find resource and support files that are placed in your computer during installation.

To get the installer that you need, you can download the demo of the product. Choose Mac or WIndows, whichever you own, and enter your serial number when requested to unlock the demo. If you need help or your serial number resent, please contact us using the product's Request Form.

Error message: Demo expired.

Q

Every time I launch After Effects, I get a series of error messages telling me your demo has expired. But I can't find the files in my After Effects 'Plugins' folder. Help! This message is really annoying.

A

There is a known problem with Mac OS 10.3 +higher. If you don't direct the installer to a specific location, it looks for a 'MAC OS' folder and installs the files there. (If you decide to reinstall once this problem is fixed, please make sure to designate the After Effects 'Plugins' folder during installation.)

This means that our plugins wind up inside of the After Effects .app file in the After Effects folder. Basically, the .app file *swallows* the plugin files. These files cannot be found via a 'Find File' function because they are inside a hidden folder, which is what the .app file really is. The files should have gone to the 'After Effects> Plugins' folder, which is probably where you're looking.

The fix is easy. Go to your After Effects folder. Right-click on the 'Adobe After Effects' app file, and choose 'Show Package Contents'. Then right-click on the 'Contents' folder, and choose 'Open'.

Is there a 'Digital Anarchy' folder or a copy of individual plug-in files? If not, please drill down a little further through the 'MacOS' folder. Here are the paths that you should look through.

Install location for FCP plugins.

Q

I've installed your product on my machine and I'm running Final Cut 5.0. When I go to Digital Anarchy under the Eeffects tab, I don't see the plugins. (Or, I only see some of the plugins in the set.)

A

Most likely, you installed to the wrong location. You mention that you are running Final Cut Pro 5.0, but which iteration are you using? This is important when you are installing a plugin for FCP because of the new Apple plugin specification.

For Final Cut Pro 5.1 +earlier, you are working with the non-FxPlug version of the product. The install path is: Hard Drive/ Library/ Application Support/ Final Cut Pro System Support/ Plugins/ Click for larger image

For Final Cut Pro 5.1.2 +higher, you are working with the FxPlug version of the product. The install path is: Hard Drive/ Library/ Plugins/ FxPlug/ Click for larger image
