Filter: Cool Text.

Cool Text is designed to allow the animation of text on a letter by letter basis. You can animate Scale, Opacity, Blur, Color and Rotation. Combine multiple Effects to create unique animations and complex effects that would be difficult otherwise.

How cool are these Effects!

Cool Text works very simply. In the Options dialog, type in your text. In the Effects parameter list, you'll find a full featured list of settings for titling. This includes options like kerning, tracking, baseline shift and alignment. When you've created your layout, apply an Effect or three, and let Cool Text do its thing.

Cool Text allows you to set an Effect in motion that spans the text much like a ripple or a wave. Combine several of the Effects, like Color and Blur, and change their Position points in tamdem. Or combine multiple uses of the same Effect. You can even create a non-moving element like the one below.

Use custom text paths.

You can control Cool Text streams with a Bezier path. Draw a custom mask on the layer that Cool Text is applied to. Or choose one of the eight preset paths that ship with the plug. Cool Text also supports animated paths, so you can make a mask of a star or wave and undulate the streams with the wave motion. NOTE: Paths are supported in After Effects, not Final Cut Pro.
