ToonIt! Photo update info.

We have released a couple of free updates for ToonIt! Photo. The most recent is version 2.6, which adds support for Photoshop CS5 and some helpful behind the scenes functions, like background rendering.

Owners of ToonIt! 2.0 and 2.5 get a free update to version 2.6. On Windows or Mac, updating ToonIt! is a simple process. You will first remove the current ToonIt files, and then do a fresh install of version 2.6. Please read this page for instructions.

Update on Windows/Vista for Photoshop.

1- First, you need to remove the current version of ToonIt, which is either 2.0 or 2.5. This is very easy. Just go to this location: C:/ Program Files/ Adobe/ Adobe Photoshop/ Plug-ins/ Digital Anarchy/ ToonIt. Put the ToonIt folder in the Recycle Bin.

2- Next, let's download the ToonIt 2.6 installer. You want to save this ZIP file to your desktop or another download location, but NOT to your Plug-ins folder. Please click this link to download ToonIt 2.6.

3- Now go to your desktop. Double-click the ZIP file that you have downloaded. This ZIP file will open a window showing the .EXE installer file. Double-click the ToonIt.EXE to start the installation.

4- Installation is very easy. The installer will choose the highest version of Photoshop to install to. If you want to install to a different verison of Photoshop, click the Browse button. You can then choose a different Photoshop/Plug-ins folder. The path will be: C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop/Plug-ins.

5- You can also choose whether to install for Photoshop 32-bit or 64-bit. By default, the installer will detect whether you are on a 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System and choose accordingly. After that, just click the Finish button to install.

6- When you first apply ToonIt 2.6 to a layer in Photoshop, the plugin will look for its serial number. ToonIt should remember that information from your ownership of version 2.50 or 2.5. If ToonIt instead starts in Demo mode and you don't know your serial number, please email us. We will send you the serial information so you can get back to cartooning!

Update on Mac for Photoshop.

1- First, you need to remove the current version of ToonIt, which is either 2.0 or 2.5. This is very easy. Just go to this location: Hard Drive/ Applications/ Adobe Photoshop/ Plug-ins/ Digital Anarchy/ ToonIt. Put the ToonIt folder in your Trash.

2- Next, let's download the ToonIt 2.6 installer. You want to save this DMG file to your desktop or another download location, but NOT to your Plug-ins folder. Please click this link to download ToonIt 2.6.

3- Now go to your desktop. Double-click the DMG file that you have downloaded. This DMG file will mount an installer disk, and open a new window showing the PKG installer file. Double-click the ToonIt.PKG installer to start the installation.

4- Installation is very easy. You will be given a choice of which Photoshop versions you want to install for. Click the checkboxes to choose the correct ones.

5- You can optionally choose which hard drive to install on. (Remember, the Photoshop application must be on that drive!) After that, the plugin does all the work and finds the correct Plug-ins folder to install to.
